University of Chicago Course Credit

Students from any college or university can earn 100 units of course credit from the University of Chicago by participating in the Tell Keisan excavations. The course code is NEAA 20091 ("Field Archaeology") and the tuition fee is $4085, which is in addition to airfare to Tel Aviv and to the participation fee of $2800 (which covers room and board, airport transfers, and weekend field trips). More information, and instructions about how to register for the course, can be found on the website of the University of Chicago Summer Session.

In addition to excavating on site, the requirements for course credit include participation in afternoon work in the dig house; attendance at all of the evening lectures and weekend field trips; reading assigned course materials; and passing a written examination.
